Vanessa Vallely is Managing Director of leading women’s website, WeAreTheCity.com. WeAreTheCity also provides additional career support through its dedicated e-learning platform and network, Careers Club. The jewel in WeAreTheCity’s crown is its annual Rising Star awards which recognise the achievements of 150 per year across a multitude of industries. WeAreTheCity has over 60,000 female members and receives hits in excess of 4 million per month and also has a presence across India. In 2009, Vanessa co-founded the citywide diversity forum, The Networks of Networks (TNON), recently rebranded as Gender Networks.
Off the back of an extensive 25 career in Finance in London, Vanessa is also a recognized expert in person-to-person business networking, online branding and a sought after motivational speaker. Vanessa has spoken for over 250 companies worldwide and also spends a great deal of her time speaking in schools through Inspiring the Future and Future First.

Vanessa released her first book, “Heels of Steel, Surviving and Thriving in the Corporate world” in 2013 which tracks her amazing career climb to the C-suite. Vanessa is also committed to community work, serving as board member for Cancer Research’s Women of Influence programme, an advisory board member for the Governments, Digital Services, alongside her position on the women’s council at techUK. Vanessa is also Pearly Queen of the City of London.
